Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges

I just got back from a lovely road trip to the desert Southwest, which left me with a whole host of photos to share and enjoy.  One of my favorite stops was Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah – a lesser-known location, perhaps, but a truly beautiful one.  And as soon as I got back online, what do I see waiting for me but Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, asking for none other than bridges!

Since they’re preserved by the National Park Service, these bridges no longer hold people – but when they were first discovered, both explorers and their horses crossed over these water-carved structures.

Yellow (and Red)

Today Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (the colors yellow and red) lines up quite nicely with Jennifer Nichole Wells’ Color Your World Challenge of “yellow!”  So here’s my entry, a cheerful arrangement of ducks complementing equally vivid earrings 🙂

(The earrings are available in the Etsy shop here!)

The Colors Blue and White…

…are the topic of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week.  I found some lovely blue and white flowers starting to open in the garden – spring is in the air!

The earrings, in shades of blue, seem to echo the bright blue of a spring sky – you can check them out on Etsy here.

Cold

The Boston area certainly qualifies as cold this week – yesterday Boston reached a record low of -9 degrees Fahrenheit, breaking the record set in 1934 by 6 degrees.  Yet the snow is still lovely.  It looks like a winter wonderland!  🙂

A Tropical Vacation (or at least its flowers!)

When I saw these polymer clay beads, I just couldn’t resist getting two strands – one in shades of pink and purple, and one in shades of blue and green.  Together, they remind me of a tropical garden.  The vibrant colors are a welcome contrast to the grey of winter 🙂

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Orange Flowers

These are my first foray into the world of dried flowers, and I doubt they’ll be my last.  I’m quite amazed by the way the lovely oranges and reds of the roses are being preserved… they remind me of something out of a fairytale 🙂

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Sense of Seeing

I’m always on the lookout for ways to use things that catch my eye – colors, textures, patterns – in my jewelry.  Lately I’ve been noticing a lot of zigzag patterns around me.  I think this pattern is perfectly lovely – it can take on a whole range of personalities depending on what colors and line thicknesses you choose, but somehow it never fails to cheer me up!

My latest bracelet-and-earrings set, now up on Etsy, is inspired by zigzags!  (Of course, the lovely blue-green color of those beads didn’t hurt either…)  Aren’t they simply stunning?
