Colorful, Cheerful Summer Jewelry

I finally got around to adding some of the newest pieces to the Etsy shop – two colorful necklaces and a pair of playful earrings!  The photo shoot – especially the outdoor part of it – was so much fun to do, and I’m excited to share these with you 🙂

Links to each piece are included so you can check them out on Etsy!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Sense of Seeing

I’m always on the lookout for ways to use things that catch my eye – colors, textures, patterns – in my jewelry.  Lately I’ve been noticing a lot of zigzag patterns around me.  I think this pattern is perfectly lovely – it can take on a whole range of personalities depending on what colors and line thicknesses you choose, but somehow it never fails to cheer me up!

My latest bracelet-and-earrings set, now up on Etsy, is inspired by zigzags!  (Of course, the lovely blue-green color of those beads didn’t hurt either…)  Aren’t they simply stunning?

From Every Angle: Showcasing my Creations

Whenever I list a new piece of jewelry in the Etsy shop, I try to photograph the item from as many angles as possible – I want customers to not only know exactly what they’re buying, but also really get excited about their purchase!  Etsy allows a maximum of 5 photos per listing, and sometimes it’s a challenge to pick which shots will be the lucky five.  So I’m thrilled to get to share some of the “extras” with you.  These are some of my favorites from the most recent listings in the shop, a set of earrings and a matching memory wire bracelet.

Here are some of the images that ultimately made the cut:

And here are some of those that didn’t:

Green Grape Jewelry

I can’t help but think that the latest additions to the Etsy shop look like they were inspired by a bunch of green grapes!  That was not in fact the case – however, the bracelet and matching earrings are still pretty cool.  Take a look:

Can you even tell the difference?  😉

Bracelet and Earring Sets up on Etsy!

There are two sets of jewelry now up in the Etsy shop, each consisting of a chunky statement bracelet and matching pair of earrings!  They’re available individually so you have the option of mixing and matching  😀  Here are a few pictures – for more information, head on over to the shop and take a look!

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Teal or Turquoise

I was very excited to see this week’s prompt for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: the color teal or turquoise!  Teal and turquoise are two of my favorite colors, and my bead stash has an – alarming, shall we say? – number of beads in those shades.  I had great fun picking out some beads for a pair of turquoise earrings!

I can’t decide what theme these earrings best fit – they’d be perfect for a little kid who admires Elsa the Snow Queen or Ariel the Little Mermaid, but they’re elegant enough that I’d wear them myself!  For more information, take a look at them in the shop here.

Close Up: Caterpillar-Inspired Earrings (Yes, Really!)

I found this little guy* on the side of the house today – he was the perfect subject for a close-up shot!

I just adore the little tufts of bristles on his back.  Looking at him got me thinking about tassels, and I ended up making a pair of caterpillar-inspired earrings:

*After a bit of research online I’ve decided that he was probably a Tussock Moth Caterpillar.  They’re quite fascinating to look at, but don’t touch them – their hairs can sting you!

Half and Half – Black and Red Beaded Hoop Earrings

As I suspect many of us were, I was tempted to post an image of the dairy product as a response to this week’s Daily Post photo challenge.  And since the temptation never truly went away, I’ll go ahead and get that out of my system:

(The image is not my own, it's taken from walmart.com. I didn't actually have any half and half in the fridge.)

However, thoughts of half and half (this time, the design concept, rather than the dairy product) also inspired these stylish earrings, which are perhaps a more exciting result:

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge – Lime or Light Green

The color green always reminds me of nature, so I took my camera outside to capture some of the local flora:

I also had some lovely wire-wrapped beads in my stash, which I used to make a pair of green earrings (available in the shop here):
