Happy (belated) 2017!

My apologies for not having posted in so long!  Life got busy – as it so often does – and I simply don’t have the time to update the blog at the moment.

Never fear, however – the shop is still up and running!  And as always, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message on Etsy, or email me at effervescenthedgepig@gmail.com.

Colorful, Cheerful Summer Jewelry

I finally got around to adding some of the newest pieces to the Etsy shop – two colorful necklaces and a pair of playful earrings!  The photo shoot – especially the outdoor part of it – was so much fun to do, and I’m excited to share these with you 🙂

Links to each piece are included so you can check them out on Etsy!

Looking Up

Some of my favorite subjects to photograph are clouds.  Puffy white clouds make the sky prettier on a sunny day; clouds of any sort provide welcome shade on a really sunny day; and even rain- and thunder- clouds can make for some great photos.  We visited Bryce Canyon National Park right as a thunderstorm was starting, and I captured a shot showing the contrast: blue sky on one side, stormy gray on the other.  Quite different from thunderstorms here in New England!

(Thank goodness for panorama shots – I don’t know what I’d do without them! 😀 )

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges

I just got back from a lovely road trip to the desert Southwest, which left me with a whole host of photos to share and enjoy.  One of my favorite stops was Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah – a lesser-known location, perhaps, but a truly beautiful one.  And as soon as I got back online, what do I see waiting for me but Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, asking for none other than bridges!

Since they’re preserved by the National Park Service, these bridges no longer hold people – but when they were first discovered, both explorers and their horses crossed over these water-carved structures.

Yellow (and Red)

Today Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (the colors yellow and red) lines up quite nicely with Jennifer Nichole Wells’ Color Your World Challenge of “yellow!”  So here’s my entry, a cheerful arrangement of ducks complementing equally vivid earrings 🙂

(The earrings are available in the Etsy shop here!)

Wisteria

So I’ll be honest here – I have no idea what type of flowers these are.  But they’re quite pretty, and they fit the color theme for Jennifer’s Color Your World challenge, so I thought I’d share them.  And if anyone has a guess as to what they are, do let me know!  🙂

Turquoise Blue

Turquoise blue is today’s featured color over at Jennifer’s Color Your World Photo Challenge – so here’s a vibrant bracelet-and-earrings set that I thought fits the bill perfectly.  They’re both available on Etsy, bracelet here and earrings here – take a look!

The flowers to come

This time of year is so lovely – everywhere you turn, there are flowers opening up, trees developing leaves, and reminders that warm weather is just around the corner!

The green dangle earrings remind me of spring – you can find them on Etsy here.
